Thread Architects

"We approached Thread Architects to advise on the refurbishment and extension of a (pretty dilapidated!) period barn within a conservation area and with an article 4 direction. They produced a comprehensive package of illustrations and suggestions for the project following which we appointed them to design and oversee planning which included a variety of challenges. We worked closely with Andy throughout the whole project to create our forever home and we are delighted with the end result. Andy has created the contemporary interior we were looking for whilst sympathetically preserving and upgrading the period fabric of the property which also meets the environmental requirements of a modern home. Huge thanks to Andy and the Thread team and we would have no hesitation in recommending their services."

"Our extension has completely transformed our house. We are absolutely delighted with how it has turned out thanks to the hard work and vision of Thread Architects. They were friendly and patient during the design process and in the end they produced a creative and attractive design that met all our requirements. The house is much more light, open and social. Very happy as well with the tender process and the builders we were introduced to."

"Extending a house in a tight space in a national park on a limited budget was never going to be easy, but Rachel and the team at Thread Architects rose to the challenge designing a life-changing extension that met all of our requirements. They were always available for advice and consultation throughout the project and were able to accommodate changes that we made as the build progressed. I can't recommend them highly enough."

"Andy has played a crucial role in our team throughout the construction phase. He is exceptionally cooperative and easy to work with, and we couldn't be happier with the building's design."

"We are very happy with the complete re-imagining of our home of nearly 30 years. We approached Thread with our general concept for the house, and they turned it into a reality, presenting us with models and computer renditions of the possibilities. Throughout the process they were all professional and enthusiastic, taking on the planning permission process and administering the building contract throughout the 8 month build. Having been back in our “new” home for over a year, we are still amazed by the transformation, and are really enjoying the new spaces, and particularly all the additional natural light that we now have. Thanks to Rachel, Andy and Anya :-)"
