"As Shaun had re roofed my property 25 years ago and had done a good job, I asked him for a price to remove two chimney stacks and re slate those areas of the roof. I did not get any other quotes as I trusted him to give me a fair price and do a good job - my mistake. The job always looked untidy as he had used lots of bits of slate, rather than whole or half slates. 2 years later, as I still had some damp issues and was going to get the attic re plastered I found a good roofer (not easy) to do what I thought would be a straight forward tidy up using whole/new slates. On stripping the area, he found that Shaun had used a random piece of plastic strip (see photo) instead of what is called a roof bonding gutter which is used to divide 2 roofs when they meet at a party wall, essential to a good watertight covering. The very experienced roofer confirmed that it was a complete bodge job and he had never seen anything like it. Someone who once did good work, now can't be bothered and worse, doesn't even use the right materials and cynically still charges a top price. I contacted Shaun about the situation and received no reply"

"I contacted Sean last week after a recommendation on the local FB group. He was quick to respond to my message and came out to visit and make recommendations within a couple of days. Issue fixed today - very helpful, knowledgeable and reasonably priced. We will definitely trust and use Barrow Roofing in future."
